Insect team

Overview

The animal genetics section members of the insect research team focus on insect genetics, -breeding, and -phenomics.

  • How can we optimise production of commercial insects through genetics?
  • How can we apply selective breeding programs on insects?
  • Which new tools (e.g. imaging) and methods (e.g. AI) can be used for recording and monitoring production traits in insects?

In this team, we aim to 1) share knowledge, and 2) generate new projects ideas that focus on improving insect production through genetics and smart phenotyping.
