Research into methods for livestock herd management with a focus on herd health, welfare, biosecurity and production. Research includes animal welfare assessments at herd level and production and health management in conventional and organic livestock herds. Research include also veterinary epidemiology annd animal health economics

Teaching in the Animal Science course Animal science in society

AU is partner in the European Partnership for Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AH&W) under Horizon Europe.  I am part of daily mangement (Management Team), WP leader for the internal program (60% of a 360 MIO € total budget) and member of Executive Committee. 

I am AU coordinator for the area: Animal behaviour, - welfare, and - health under the agreement between AU and the Ministry on public advise. AU is partner in the Danish Center for Animal Welfare (DCAW),  together with University of Copenhagen, and The Veterinary and Food Administration. I am member of the steering commitee for DCAW. AU is partner in the EU Reference Center for Animal Welfare  (EURCAW Pigs), providing advise to all 27 Members states on public animal welfare inspection. I am deputy coordinator for EURCAW Pigs.
