I am interested on understanding the neurobiology of depression and schizophrenia, with special attention on the possible mechanisms of action underlying rapid acting antidepressants. I work animal studies (dissection of regions of interest, injections, and various behavioral tests), histology, molecular biology, animal surgery, primary neuronal cultures, cellular imaging, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining, and imaging techniques with different types of microscopy.
