Bingjie's expertise cover statistical modelling, quantitative genetics, animal breeding, functional genomics, and AI for animal genetics. Her research interests are: (1) to develop and apply statistical methods to investigate genetic variation in livestock population in complex traits; (2) to develop new traits and maintain current achievements to facilitate sustainable breeding; (3) to uncover the genetic background of complex traits through integrating diverse data sources (e.g., multi-omics data) and data-driven methods.
Bingjie's bachelor’s degrees were in Veterinary Medicine and in Computer Science. Her master and PhD were in Animal Breeding and Genetics working on genetics of feed efficiency in dairy cattle and genetics of mastitis resistance in dairy sheep. She did her Postdoc research in USDA Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory in Maryland working on large-population cattle genomics and breeding. She completed her tenure track and led a group in Integrative Animal Genetics in SRUC (Edinburgh) before she moved to Aarhus University as Associate professor and Lead of Animal Program in the department from 2026.
Apart from research, Bingjie also involves in training master and PhD students, industry knowlege transfer, and community services in editorial and management work.
