A full professor in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANIVET), Faculty of Technical Sciences at Aarhus University. I am involved in Research, Innovation, and Education covering Genetics/Genomics, Animal Breeding, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology and Computational Biology with a focus on Animal Production, Feed / Resource efficiency, Reproduction, OneHealth, and OneWelfare. My core expertise includes MultiOmics Big data integration & analyses: combined modeling and analyses of genetics/genomics, nutrigenomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics & metagenomics datasets in conjunction with phenotypes, health/disease outcomes and managemental conditions in animals (livestock and pets). I develop and/or use various analytical methods and pipelines including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (AI-ML) methods. Strong interests and track-record in international collaborative projects and networks. Several years of commercial and entrepreneurial R & D and Technology experience as CEO/CTO.
I will be involved in the new Bachelor and Masters education in Animal science teaching Animal Breeding & Reproduction, Bioinformatics, Integrative Systems Biology and Computational Biology.
