My research focus on environmental and climate footprint of dairy cows from a nutritional perspective. Quantifying emission and excretion together with dietary manipulations for nutrient content, or using additives, allows to identify nutrition strategies to reduce the environemental and climate footprint of the dairy cow. In addition, my research focus on quantification of phenotypic animal variation, in collaboration with genetists.
My main goal when teaching is creating an engaging and safe environment for the students. I taylor my teaching style to the students as group and individuals, whether possible, and I integrate a variety of teaching methods. I aim at making the teaching material as clear and digestible as possible, and try to keep all students on the same page. I have experience in theoretical and practical classes, and I have been co-responsible for at least one course.
