Poultry

The team focuses on projects and problems related to poultry production in Denmark and abroad. This can include intensive production systems as well as poultry production in third world countries.

Poultry breeding is fast compared to most other livestock species and this is especially true for broilers. This gives opportunities to study populations that exist after very many generations of selection or even genomic selection. Biological and genetic effects of this selection may therefore be seen much earlier in such species compared to other livestock with longer generation intervals.

We also investigate possibilities for new projects within the area.
